Here are some of our favorite restaurants or places for eats in the area, our favorite places to shop, and local events.
Favorite restaurants or places for eats
• Weber’s Little Donut Shop – a small little shop in front of the Trading Post that serves fresh donuts daily. From maple glazed to blueberry cake, everything we’ve ever tried is delicious. Walk there and reward yourself with an extra donut!
• Trading Post – serves breakfast biscuits, sandwiches and pizza throughout the day. Locals insist they have the best burgers around.
• Coneheads – ice cream. Be sure to check if they are open before biking there.
INDIAN PASS
• Indian Pass Raw Bar – oysters are king, but the crab stuffed shrimp are good too. This is a no frills, plan to wait in line place.
PORT ST. JOE
• Peppers – “Why would I come to the beach and eat Mexican food”. That use to be my question until eating at Peppers. The Los Socios is a favorite, but many great things on the list.
APALACHICOLA
• Boss Oyster – Famous for their oysters, but the fried Gulf Shrimp basket and fried Grouper basket win our vote.
• Oyster City Brewing – Ok, not eats, but definitely good drinks. Take a growler of your favorite back to the beach or enjoy in their tasting area.
• The Owl Café – brunch cannot be beat on the weekend here.
• Caroline’s on the River – another great breakfast place. Request a table on the dock for a great view.
Favorite place to shop for
• SEAFOOD – Mile 13 Seafood in Apalachicola. Try grabbing a fresh fish filet or Gulf Shrimp and grilling them over a charcoal grill.
• STEAK – Piggly Wiggly in Port St. Joe. Grab a Filet Mignon or other choice cut from the Butcher’s counter. It will not disappoint.
• WINE OR LIQUOR – The Honey Hole in Apalachicola.
• GROCERIES – Piggly Wiggly in Port St. Joe.
• FISHING SUPPLIES – Scallop Cove on Cape San Blas or Bluewater Outriggers in Port St. Joe.
